Thoughts on the Release of Starfield on September 6th, 2023

Starfield has been officially released to the public and the sales have been brisk. According to several sources, the game managed to achieve more than 250,000 concurrent players on Steam alone. This is very impressive considering that Starfield is a space game with a more niche subject matter than that of Skyrim. Though fans of space exploration may always consider themselves to be in the majority of the population, the truth is that the many people are not that interested in the genre of space sims.

However, as I have stated before, Starfield is probably going to be the most mainstream space game that will ever be released and we are going to have to pay attention to how the game does in sales. It has already gotten 2 million people to pay for the Premium Editions, which is highly impressive and already recoups the cost of the game, which is estimated at 200 million dollars. Bethesda Game Studios has much to proud of with the success of this game. Hopefully their additional content that they release will be of the same quality and attract even more players.
