Starfield has the magic and why every video games needs it.
There is a mystery about a new game that cannot be seen in a game that you have played many times. You are stepping into a virtual world without any knowledge of what you may see. Just like in the real world, where you do not have all the information at your fingertips, being in a video game in its opening moments are the best moments that elevate your memories into something remarkable. Everything in the game is mystery waiting to have its truth uncovered and shown to the player. These are the moments that we as gamers love the most and remember as the years go by. This is why we play video games. It is more than just a way to pass the time, it's the experiences that matter.
That should be something that you cherish and try to understand. I think that is why video games are such a powerful medium that have the ability to influence others, especially people who may not be all that interested in video games. Starfield is one of those type of games that has into the DNA of their creations. In spite of its many flaws and issues, this is a game that is worth buying simply for those opening experiences that enchant players give a sense of wonder.
When I was young, starting a new video game was something special. I still try to keep that by trying to not play video games as much. Considering that I do not have as much time as I used to, this also serves a practical purpose of helping me keep my mind focused and not getting all these distractions with video games all the time. I think that it is important to stay away from games for a while, it helps to build the anticipation of playing these games through actual emotional scarcity so that each experience feels closer to being something special and not a chore.
Starfield in many ways is the apex in Bethesda's approach to the video games. They have always been a studio that is interested in making every one of their games into interactive worlds that are more than just set pieces for a player. In Starfield, the game is alive in many ways and while it may not have the depth and breath of games such as the recent Grand Theft Auto games, Starfield is miles ahead of many games when it comes to realizing those worlds and making them come to life in ways that you do not see in many other video games.
There are many ways in which that this apex of such gameplay is why Starfield has so much magic in it.
I think that many players generally speaking in this day and age are pretty cynical and there are many reasons why. While the Internet isn't solely to blame for how the game is being rated on Steam, it is an important reason why so many people are just having negative views on the game. I consciously went with an approach that would criticize the game but still highlight its strengths as I view the game as very interesting in the video game space.
As gamers, we have to understand that making video games is a tough enterprise and people have to understand what that means.
Starfield is a labor of love and its more than just a game but a statement of how mankind sees space exploration.
